Before a project is to start, a Land Use Permit may be required. These forms are described, viewed and downloaded below:

 

Land Use Permit applications for a proposed project must have an application fee along with the required information attached. Please refer to the cover page of the application packet for all required information.

After-The-Fact Land Use Permit application is required if a project has started, commenced, or completed prior to obtaining a permit. Fees for this permit are doubled. Please refer to the cover page of the application packet for the required information to be submitted.

 

Variance applications are handled through the Code Enforcement Office. Variances to the requirements of the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance are brought forth to the Sanitation, Shoreland, and Floodplain Zoning Board of Adjustments (BOA). Variances are required when aspects of a project do not conform to the ordinance. Please review the cover page and all documents within the application for the required information that has to be submitted for the hearing. There is a $500.00 non-refundable application fee for the hearing. The fee will not be refunded if the variance is denied.

 

After-The-Fact Variance application is required when projects have started, commenced, or completed without a Land Use Permit and the project does not conform to the requirements of the ordinance. As with the After-The-Fact Land Use Permit application, the fees for the hearing are doubled to $1,000.00. This fee is also non-refundable and will not be returned if the variance is denied.
