A public health nurse provides monthly visits to Fond du Lac County schools who do not have their own school nurse(s). The public health nurse monitors disease incidence and is available to consult on student health issues.
The Health Department coordinates annual screenings for targeted grades, to detect potential vision, hearing, and scoliosis problems.
The Health Department also offers a flouride mouthrinse program for any school that is interested in participating. The program provides for once a week swish with a fluoride rinse, which helps prevent tooth decay. Cost is $3.00 per child for the entire school year.
